Thank You Card Sketch

Greeting Card Preliminary Sketch

from my personal sketchbook

I’m a bit fuzzy-headed again today. And I’m not talking about my hair…although that’s usually fuzzy as well. No, I’m fuzzy on account of the four hours of sleep I got last night. Unfortunately, I can’t even blame the baby for this one. I just straight up couldn’t sleep. Nights like that are so frustrating, aren’t they? You lay awake in bed thinking, “Ok, if I fall asleep now, I can still get a solid 6 hours…make that 5 hours…4…oh jeez, why am I still awake?!” Panic sets in as you think of how tired you’re going to be in the morning. You toss, you turn, you eat some pancakes (oh wait, is that just me?), and still sleep evades you.

To console myself, I drank lots of coffee and made more cookies. Yes, the cookies from a few days ago, otherwise known as best-cookies-I’ve-ever-made-in-all-my-25-years-of-life-o-m-g-they-are-to-die-for-give-me-five-more cookies.

In further efforts to cheer myself, I am taking the lazy way out and giving you a peek into my sketchbook. This is a sketch for a greeting card that I made a month or so ago. The final version was done with watercolor and micron pens. It was lovely.

Ok, friends, happy Friday to you all. I’m out!

  1. so lovely and delicate looking. Hand drawn cards are the best sometimes it is just hard to put the time into making them, but this is really pretty. You should take a look at some of the work on my blog let me know what you think and maybe follow if you like 🙂
